Citysafe: MLA expo & new premises!

Over the second weekend in September, Citysafe Wholesale Ltd. attended the biannual MLA EXPO in Telford, England.

The EXPO, organised by the Master Locksmith Association, is the premier UK trade show for the locksmith industry and this year saw record attendance. Locksmiths from all over the UK and Ireland came along to meet suppliers, view the products on display and in many cases place orders!

Citysafe were proud to exhibit their extensive range of Sistec & Salvus safes and security cupboards. On show from Sistec was their top selling Euroguard range with all safes conforming to EN 1143-1 and with Grade 0 to V available there is a product in the range to suit every requirement. In addition to Sistec safes, there were also many units on display from the Groups other leading safe brand, Salvus. The Salvus range, which in the last 12 months has become a firm favourite with UK locksmiths, really does have a solution for every requirement.

Visitor to the stand were able to view 1 hour fire safes tested and certified to EN 15659 LFS 60P, as well as units conforming to the S2 and EN 1143-1 standards. However what pleased the locksmiths the most was the number of safes that Salvus offer that have been tested and certified to both a fire and security standard. As if this was not enough, the icing on the cake as far as the locksmiths were concerned was that all the safes on display had been tested and certified by the ECB•S testing institution in Germany . One customer who visited the stand commented that “The ECB•S certification mark means that the safe has been certified by the ESSA, meets the requirements of the relevant European standard and has been manufactured under a certified quality management system according to ISO 9001, this is exactly what the UK market needs!”

Also on display on the Citysafe stand was a range of key cutting machines from Keyline in Italy. Citysafe are one of only three UK companies who sell this range and being the only one at the EXPO interest was very high indeed.

Finally, Citysafe were delighted to have two colleagues from German cylinder manufacturing CES, on their stand. Citysafe have recently formed a close partnership with CES and are now their sole appointed distributor to the UK locksmith market. As always visitors to the stand enjoyed the challenge of trying to assemble a complete cylinder faster than their friends!

However, if you were unable to attend the MLA EXPO this year you do not have to worry as Citysafe are delighted to announce that they have now completed their move to custom built new premises in Southampton. The new building which is twice the size of their previous premises is indeed another major step forward for the Company. With a warehouse of over 800 square meters, the Company is now able to increase its UK stock holding of safes.

Another significant benefit of the new building is the 100 square meter showroom and training facility Citysafe now has. Already set up is a permanent display of safes and security cupboards, an exhibition in itself. So if you missed the MLA EXPO, please do not hesitate to contact Citysafe as they will be only too pleased to welcome you to their new home.
